Abstract:
Aqueduct structure is widely applied in South-to-North water diversion project. Faced with the large-scale trend of the aqueduct structure, the seismic problem which is great significant in engineering has been aroused widespread attention. In this paper, based on the calculation, the horizontal seismic response of aqueduct and its related issues have been studied.Firstly, the problems which exist in the horizontal seismic response analysis of the aqueduct, such as fluid-structure interaction simulation, dynamic artificial boundaries, artificial ground motion generation and its input mode , the displacement curve baseline drift etc., has been studied.Then, by using ANSYS finite element software, the soil-pile-structure of the overall finite element analysis models has constructed, which uses the Houser simplified models to simulate fluid-solid coupling interaction and uses the fixed boundary and the improved three-dimension concentric viscous-elastic artificial boundary to simulate the soil boundary. And then, the dynamic properties of the aqueduct structure have been studied. The differences of the basic modes of the Aqueduct structure have been compared between the watery working conditions and the waterless working conditions. Also, the differences of the basic modes of the Aqueduct structure between the fixed boundary model and the viscous-elastic artificial boundary model has been compared.Finally, the horizontal seismic response of aqueduct has been studied by using dynamic finite element analysis method. The difference between the watery and the waterless working conditions,and the difference between the fixed boundary model and viscous-elastic artificial boundary model has been compared. The results show that: The horizontal seismic responses of aqueduct structure of watery working conditions have clearly increasing when compared with the waterless working conditions. The adverse impactions caused by the effect of water sloshing can not be ignored. Compared with the fixed artificial boundary model, the horizontal seismic responses of the viscous-elastic artificial boundary model are reduced in different extent, which indicates that we can use the viscous-elastic artificial boundary to effectively simulate the infinite foundation radiation -damping effect and the soil boundary.In summary, the effectiveness of the dynamic artificial boundary has been studied in this paper, which is used to simulate the soil boundary in the horizontal seismic response analysis of the aqueduct. Also, the adverse impactions caused by the effect of water sloshing have been studied.
